Rosebush Slate Quarry
Rosebush slate quarries were in operation in the 19th century, and supplied slate to Westminster Palace whilst it was being re-built. The slate was ferried around the country by the old railway, and some of the slate was then taken to Fishguard to be shipped abroad.

Little Haven Sunset
Another funny story, while we were in Pembrokeshire we arranged to meet up for a sunset shot with some friends from down there, who we made through Flickr and Facebook. They sent us a text message saying there would be no sunset this night to which I replied they had better get themselves to Little Haven and quick about it because one was developing!! After we had taken some shots someone said that this one looked as if the rock on the left was a face!
Sunset At Angle
This shot was taken at Angle from the coastal path adjacent to Thorn Island. There was black sky all around us apart from the sunset and it was raining as well

Thorn Island, Angle Sunset
Another funny night when the weather was strange. We headed towards Freshwater West for a sunset, but when we got there we realised that Angle would be the better option. At Angle it was looking good so we walked the coastal path to Thorn Island. As the sun set everywhere around was black and then it started to rain, No coats no protective cover for the cameras, so I would take a few shots then shield Janes camera from the rain while she took a few shots and inbetween we were drying the cameras off. And what do you know there had been a rainbow behind us and we didnt realise untill it was to late.

Whitesands Bay
What a day this was! When we started out it was a sunny day, we went to Strumble Head then headed to Porthgain where the weather changed. Towards lunchtime it went really cold with grey clouds looking like rain. We moved onto Solva for tea and as the weather started to pick up we decided to head back to Whitesands Bay to see if we could possibly get a sunset, we were not disappointed.
Thorn Island
Thorn Island with its Napoleonic fort just off Angle. The island is dominated by the fort that was built to defend Pembroke Dock and Milford Haven from the French Navy. The area is popular with divers, who investigate the wrecks near the island. The ship Loch Shiel, which was carrying thousands of cases of whisky, ran into rocks off the island in the late 19th Century. The fort was converted into a hotel in 1947. It as been sold on a few times since then The new owner wants to use it commercially.
